We aim to foster a sense of belonging and provide a space where everyone's individuality and heritage are understood and respected.
We aim to provide a safe and comfortable space for children, young people and their families where they can build on skills and strengths and feel empowered to use them.
We believe that everyone should know and have access to their rights.
Thrive is women-led and family-centered. Our founders' background in lived experience of poverty, gender-based discrimination, disability-based discrimination and racism, have given us a unique perspective and position to develop much-needed services. Far too often we have felt unwelcome in everyday places, and that services don't celebrate or even consider our differences. Thrive accepts all people from all backgrounds.
We understand that people, especially young people and children, can be deeply impacted by events in their lives. We take a trauma-informed approach in all aspects of Thrive. From the way we train staff, to the way we support all our children and young people. This enables us to ensure our practice is person-centered.
Agency, awareness and understanding, relationships and culture. We want all our young people and families to be aware of their rights and be treated in a rights-respecting way. We are rights-based, and take a rights-based approach in everything we do. The UNCRC, Equalities Act 2010, GIRFEC, and many other legislation are fundamental to our practice, and to helping others thrive!
