Our organisation was founded by a mother who understands first-hand how difficult employment can be whilst juggling a family.
We understand the need for flexibility and as a result, we are always happy to consider both full and part-time positions. All our full-time contracts are based on a 35 hour working week to achieve a positive work/life balance. Our part-time contracts are drawn in collaboration with our staff to get the optimum conditions for them.
As Thrive was born out of lived experience and a necessity for the service, we want to make sure we are different from others. We are not a big corporation who is detached from their service users, we are East Lothian born and we genuinely want to make a different. As we are not-for-profit, all our profits go straight back into the company and so we are able to provide our staff with competitive salaries that reflect the demanding nature of the job.
We believe in making sure our staff are recognised for their contributions and commitment to further themselves. We also ensure that there is allocated time to all committee meetings to discuss 'staff well-being' and how we, as an organisation, can proactively contribute towards promoting this in practice. Without staff, there is no service! So we work hard to achieve staff retention and build a supportive workforce within the organisation that truly recognises how wonderful we all are!
We want our staff to progress and flourish as much as possible. We offer fantastic in-house training on trauma-informed practice, non-discriminatory practice and rights-based practice routinely to ensure that we all work with the same values. We also constantly seek out external training opportunities to keep us at the forefront in this sector.
Some training opportunities we offer:
- Trauma Informed Practice
- Rights-Based Practice and Understanding Children's Rights
- Non-Discriminatory Practice
- Anti-Racism Groundwork
- The Benefits of Play
We look for opportunities for our staff to progress in their roles to various other positions within the organisation. Our management team are always happy to support ways staff can do this!
